Trainers & Assessors

What assessors do

Assessors assess trainee's skills and knowledge against the requirement of unit standards on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).

An assessor:

  • provides feedback to trainees about their evidence
  • tells trainees their assessment results
  • reports trainees' assessment results to MITO
  • arranges reassessments for trainees
  • maintains records of assessment activities and results
  • participates in moderation activities.

Assessors work for polytechnics, Private Training Establishments (PTEs), other training organisations, workplaces and / or companies.
